Duck Duck Drain Policy

We have the most up-to-date sewer cleaning equipment and all of our technicians are trained and have years of experience in the plumbing/drain cleaning field. Because of the nature of drain cleaning, it is impossible for us to guarantee that the drain will stay clear for any period of time. This is not an arbitrary or capricious decision on our part, but a necessary one. I ask you to consider the following reasons for this decision:

1 - It is impossible for us to see down the drain and actually see the condition of the pipe or the cause of the stoppage. There is now equipment that can put a camera down the drain so one can see what the problem is and if it has been corrected. This, however, is only possible with the larger lines like a main sewer or sewer stack, and it is very costly. Because of these factors, it is not practical, and in many cases, not possible, to do this on every drain.

2 - We have no control of how the drain is used and what may be put down the drain line after we have cleared it and leave the premises. We have very few recurring problems after we have cleared a drain. We believe the reason our recurrence is so low is the process we go through when clearing a drain.

1. As we mentioned above, we use the latest equipment.
2. Our technicians are trained and experienced.
3. We flush out the drain after cleaning and test by operating the fixture on the drain, be it toilet, sink or bathtub, several times to insure a good flow down the drain.

There are companies who do guarantee the drains they clear for a period of time. They, however, have no better equipment, no better trained or experienced technicians. They simply charge everyone a little extra so when they do have to go back to clear a drain again, they have the profit built in. We don't think it fair because your neighbor has a problem drain, you have to pay extra when we clear your drain. Since this recurrence only happens once in every twenty to thirty drains cleared, you will probably never have it happen to you, but we felt you should know our policy and the reasons for it in advance.
